Preschoolers love the holidays. The joy they find in these simple days of celebration is unmatched by adults. You can help your preschooler find even more joy in the holidays by helping them do fun crafts that embrace the ideas of the holiday and let them get involved in the fun. For Valentine’s Day one of the best crafts you can do with your preschooler is one that lets them make something to give, and a craft that they can have fun making.
A great choice for a preschool craft that does both of these things is the : Lacing it up treat pouch.
The following are the things you need for this craft:
Red, pink, or Valentine print cardstock
A heavy clear, cut-able plastic
A hole puncher (preferably one that is heart shaped)
Scissors
Red or pink yarn
Candy!
The idea of this craft is to make a pouch that can be filled with candy and given as a gift to someone they love, whether that be a friend, parent, grandparent, or sibling, your preschooler is going to have a blast making their Valentine craft.
Ok, what you want to do is draw a pattern of a heart. It is good to have it about 8 inches high. Now, take your pattern, and trace a heart on your patterned or colored cardstock, and on your plastic. Cut your hearts out slightly inside the trace mark so that you do not see it on the finished product.
