Valentine's Day Fun

Big-Hearted Hello

Kids especially love this goofy looking Valentine monster. You may want to inscribe yours with the message, “I’ve got my eye on you! You will need between 1-2 hours to complete this craft.

What you will need:

Scissors
Red card stock
Hole punch
Heavy red yarn (we used chenille)
Tacky glue
40-millimeter googly eyes
Markers
White paper or card stock

Instructions for the project: Begin by cutting 1 large heart and 4 smaller ones (suggested size is 5 1/2 inches and 1 1/4 inches across) from the red card stock. You can use a template if you need to. Punch 4 holes in the large heart (these are for arms and legs) and 1 hole in each of the smaller hearts. Cut two 12-inch lengths of yarn and then thread each piece in through an armhole and out through a leg hole. Tie on the smaller hearts for hands and feet. Glue on the googly eyes, and then draw on eyelashes and a smile. You can write your message on a small piece of the white paper and then glue it to one of the hands.

Suggested messages:

I've got my eye on you!
We see eye to eye
Eye'm glad you're my friend
