Valentine's Day Fun

Twisted Tissue Paper Hearts

This fun craft gives your kids a chance to exercise their creativity and helps foster their fine motor skills. The kids can be having fun and not even realize they are developing skills at the same time.

What you will need:

Sheets of tissue paper in various Valentine colors
Cardstock
Glue
Pencils or small dowels

Instructions for the project: Have the kids tear several sheets of tissue paper into small pieces. Pour the glue into a bowl or low dish. Cut out templates of hearts(or other Valentine shapes) from the cardstock. The kids will then twist a small piece of tissue on the eraser end of the pencil or dowel and dip the tissue paper lightly into the glue and stamp onto the cardstock. When the heart is completely filled with tissue paper you can attach a ribbon on the back for hanging.
