One of the fun things you can do for Valentine’s Day is make crafts that are dinner oriented. This could be things to decorate your table, serving dishes, wine glasses, or even bottle openers. There are tons of fun crafts that can be done to add the personal touch you need for Valentine’s Day. The following are a few ideas of Valentine’s Day crafts for adults for a Valentine dinner:
Ceramic plates:
Buy unfired, unglazed ceramic plates. Then spend some time decorating them. You can do this by painting them, stenciling lettering on to them with special dates, putting pictures on them, or inside jokes, or anything that you think would be fun to have on your plate for your Valentine’s Day dinner. Once you have painted them, glaze them, and fire them. This is not a craft most people can do at home, but you can visit places like Color Me Mine and create Valentine’s plates, or anywhere that makes ceramics may sell the stuff to you and charge you a minimal fee for firing the plates.
Candles:
Most people eat dinner by candle light on Valentine’s Day. So, that can be one of your Valentine’s Day crafts. This is a craft you only want adults to do as you will be dealing with hot wax. You can make all sorts of candles, poured, dipped, gel, etc. Some candles have things like dried flowers or hearts in them. You can go online and find plenty of places to buy what you need to make candles, as well as instructions for how to make all types of candles. So, all you have to do is decide what kind you want, and hop to it.
Etched or painted wine glasses:
If you are really into crafting, and intend to continue doing crafts for many things, buying a glass etcher may be a good investment. However, if you just want to do a one time type deal, then buying an expensive etcher is not wise, instead, simply paint your wine glasses. This is great adult craft, and can add some festivity to your table setting. If you have a glass etcher, follow the directions it comes with to etch the date and a Valentine themed scene onto the glass. If you are using paint you will either want to make sure you have a steady hand for free hand painting, or a stencil.
